Wonder Woman 1984

Hi friends! I just watched Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters! And I have to say, despite the bad reviews, this movie was pretty good. It is a bit complicated and confusing though. But it was really fun that D.C. captured this movie in the 80s.

In this film Diana Prince A.K.A. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is an archaeologist working at the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C. That’s when she and her coworker Barbara (Kristen Wiig) find a strange crystal saying it’ll grant your every wish. Diana and Barbara tell each other it’s not actually going to do that. But late at night Barbara comes back to her office and (as if to test it out) wishes to be Diana. (She had no idea what she was in for.) She fell asleep in her office and wakes up late the next morning. She walks out of her office and is introduced to a man named Max Lord (Pedro Pascal), a famous commercial actor. They chat all day. Later, at a party Diana meets a man she’s never seen before that somehow knows her name. She soon realizes that the man is Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), her old boyfriend from many years ago. Except he’s in another body. That’s why Diana didn’t recognize him before he told her it was him. Meanwhile Max Lord becomes Barbara’s new love interest. Barbara willingly gives the crystal to him. After the party Max goes to his own office and wishes to become the crystal. He starts to go around granting wishes. As this is happening, Barbara is becoming popular, and cool, and is developing powers just like Diana’s. This all was kind of a mash-up of confusion, but it was still entertaining. When Diana figures out what Max has done she knows she has to stop him. He is causing chaos and mass destruction. Barbara soon becomes powerful enough to become the Cheetah. She attempts to end Wonder Woman, and fails. Wonder Woman reaches the location where Max is. Watch the movie to find out the ending. Wonder Woman was taken off of HBO max so unfortunately you can’t see it there, but you can watch it in theaters! Check online for viewing times.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you return! Have a wonderful day!🤗

Mulan (2020)

2021 Oscar Nominated – Best visual effectsBest costume design

I thought that this movie was very good considering the circumstances of 2020. Though they maybe could’ve done better, I still enjoyed watching Mulan despite the fact some people gave this film very bad reviews that I don’t think it deserves. Keep in mind that this movie is PG-13 so you might not want to show your younger ones. The story of Mulan (2020) is pretty similar to the original from 1998 but Disney made some changes that are a bit surprising.

The main story line is still pretty much the same. Mulan is a young woman with a strong, unique personality. When her dad volunteers to be a soldier in the war she decides to protect him and disguise herself as a man and fights in the war herself. In this version there’s a witch on the enemy’s side, and a phoenix protecting Mulan. You can find this movie on Disney+.

I think that whether this movie is good or not is totally an opinion but I would recommend it. Thank you for reading! Have a wonderful day friends!🤗

The Polar Express

I recently watched this movie for the first time and I have to say, I adore it. It’s so sweet, and even if you’ve already seen this film, just watch it again. The Polar Express is full of warm and fuzzy feelings that will make you smile.

A young boy (Daryl Sabara) doesn’t believe in the magic of Christmas. That is until an old locomotive train pulls in front of his house on Christmas Eve. It takes him to the North Pole and Santa’s Village. Along the way he meets a kind little girl (Nona Gayle) and a quiet small child named Billy (Jimmy Bennett). They become friends and meet Santa! When the young boy returns home he is now a true Christmas believer!

This film is wonderful and I totally recommend it for a Christmas family movie night! I watched this in theaters but it is on several streaming services. If you want to see it on the big screen 2020 you can most likely go online and see if it’s playing at your local theaters. Thank you for reading! 🤗

My five favorite Christmas movies to watch with the family

Christmas is just around the corner! In my family, we watch these movies every year. I hope you enjoy them too!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

This is a great movie that I totally recommend for the whole family! For me, it’s a tradition to watch this particular movie when Christmas comes around.

The Grinch (played by Jim Carrey) is bitter, mean, and grouchy. He hates Christmas so much, that he decides to try and steal it. But a sweet little girl, named Cindy Lou Who, (played by Taylor Momsen) melts his heart and the Grinch becomes good. This film has some really funny parts that make it fun for the whole family to watch. This hilarious movie can be found on Netflix.

Elf

Elf is my second favorite holiday movie, that is really funny, and is, to me, a Christmas season must-see. But, it can be a little hard to find.

In Elf, Buddy (played by Will Ferrell) sneaks into Santa’s sack as a baby, when Santa stops by at the orphanage. Unaware, Santa brings him all the way back to the North Pole. Buddy is raised there, making toys, and spreading Christmas cheer. When he’s an adult, he realizes that he doesn’t seem to fit in with all the other elves. He decides to venture to New York city, where he finds his father, Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan), falls in love with a department store employee, named Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel), and finally figures out where he wants to be. This movie could be a bit of a hunt to find, but you can find this film on various streaming services such as Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Sling TV, with a premium subscription.

Nightmare Before Christmas

Nightmare Before Christmas is a wonderful movie. Some people do consider it a Halloween movie though. This stop-motion masterpiece could be kind of scary for younger kids too. Specifically five years old and below.

Jack Skellington (the voice of Danny Elfman and Chris Sarandon), Halloweentown’s pumpkin king, became sick and tired of the same old Halloween routine. One day, he is walking through the woods with his dog, Zero, and stumbles across a magical door, leading him to Christmastown, a jolly, holiday-themed town. Jack conspires to take over Christmas and kidnaps Santa Clause. But he doesn’t know that what he’s doing is bad, and things go very wrong. This animated movie can be found on Disney+.

Home Alone

I love this movie for it’s laughable scenes and entertaining plot. This might not be a movie every parent wants their child to see, due to mild violence, rude humor, and language that would maybe be something moms and dads don’t want their little ones to see though. Other than that this movie is one of my favorites, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves funny films.

In Home Alone, Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) is left behind accidentally in the scramble with his family to get out the door, so they won’t be late for their flight to Paris, France. Kevin’s mom (played by Catherine O’Hara) doesn’t realize that Kevin’s not there until the middle of their flight. At first being home alone is really fun for him. But things start spinning out of control when he realizes that there are two burglars plotting to rob his family’s house! Kevin knows that he’s the only one that can save it. Once the burglars arrive at his house his plan springs into action! This movie can be found on Disney+ (even though it’s not a Disney film.)

Noelle

This great movie to watch with the family will warm your heart, completely. It is really wonderful, and so cute.

Noelle Kringle, (played by Anna Kendrick) is the daughter of Santa Clause. She is a really nice, goodhearted young woman, who completely supports her big brother, Nick (played by Bill Hader), that will be Santa for the upcoming Christmases in the future. He is training a lot, and miserably failing. Nick soon becomes extremely stressed and under pressure. So, as a result, Noelle tells him to take the weekend off, and go someplace warm. He follows this advice, except Nick doesn’t just take the weekend off. When the sleigh and reindeer come back without him everybody starts to worry. Noelle bravely goes to Phoenix, Arizona, on the sleigh with her elf nanny, named Polly (played by Shirley MacLaine), where they believe Nick has gone. Noelle and Polly go on a big adventure throughout the movie, and in the end Noelle becomes Santa!! As a girl myself, I I love the idea that Santa can be a woman! I think the movie industry should depict Santa Clause as a female more often. Also, as a super cute addition to the movie, the characters use expressions like “Oh my garland” instead of “Oh my gosh” and “jolly” instead of “happy”, which to me, is so clever. This is a Disney+ original, so it can only be found on Disney+.

Thank’s so much for reading this! Hopefully you will enjoy these movies. Stay tuned for more posts! See you next time!🤗
